Performance: The SB-1 provides a convenient method of splitting a single circuit run into as many as 4 spurs. It has one input and four output XLR connections. One cable run from a system master or power supply can be run to a remote location then be split among several stations. Daisy chaining can be minimized, eliminating the need for two cables being connected to belt packs.
Most system masters and power supplies provide a maximum of three connections per circuit. SB-1’s can be used at the system master or power supply location to multiply the number of home-run connections which can be made to each circuit.
The SB-1 is equipped with an Isolate button. When this button is depressed, two of the XLR output connections are isolated from the incoming communications circuit, while power is passed through to a newly formed circuit. Internal components provide the necessary termination circuitry for the new circuit.
Durability: The ribbed, extruded aluminum case; glass-filled nylon end bezels; internal support system for the PC board; best-quality XLR-type connectors, and; long-life switches, all contribute to the outstanding ability of the SB-1 to withstand rough usage.
Value: The comparatively low price of the SB-1 is made possible by the minimized assembly cost resulting from simplicity of construction. Simple construction also affords the use of higher quality components, and increases the ease (thus lowering the cost) of servicing.
Compatibility: The SB-1 is plug-in compatible with Clear-Com® and other , lesser known (200 ohm, unbalanced) headset intercom systems.
