Performance: The PS-2 is highly regulated 24VDC, 2 Amp (continuous) power supply capable of supplying up to 66 BP-1 Belt Packs with all signal lights lit. It may be rack mounted or used as a table-top unit, when fitted with its optional plain side panels and plastic feet.

The PS-2 features front panel circuit (A+B and B+C) switches combined with circuit A and circuit C signal lamps. Three male 3-pin XLR-type connectors on the rear panel, marked A, B & C, may be used to connect stations to the power supply. By connecting a belt pack or loudspeaker station to circuit B, this unit can function as a cost effective 2-circuit main station. Using the front panel switches, the operator can connect to stations on circuits A and C, and when disconnected, can be signaled via the brilliant 4-segment LED’s on the front panel.

The toroidal transformer used in the PS-2 provides greater efficiency, lower hum, and reduced strayfield radiation compared with conventional types, and allows the single rack unit configuration. The transformer is multi-tap, allowing for operation at 100, 120, 2220 & 240VAC. There is sufficient iron in the core to accommodate 50 or 60Hz supply frequencies. The regulator IC also provides protection against overloads and short circuits. In the event of a protective shut-down, turning the main AC switch off and back on, after removing the short, will restore power to the system.

Durability: The steel cabinet, firmly secured components, and best-quality XLR-type connectors all contribute to the PS-2’s outstanding ability to withstand rough usage.

Value: Simplicity of construction and the resulting ease of assembly affords the use of high-quality components and a price much below comparable 2Amp rack mountable power supplies.

Compatibility: The PS-2 may be used with Clear-Com® and other popular (200 ohm, unbalanced) headset communications systems.
